Each of the 16 personality types is made up four components. Given that there are one of two preferences for each of the four dichotomies, 16 resulting combinations are possible. These are summarised below.

Each personality type (or whole type) is more than an attitude, a perceiving function, a judging function and an extraverted function added together.
